5th June Opened site – downloaded PDF’s – and did hard copies of – (Unit Outline; Welcome to the Unit; Introduction to the Unit; 28 pages of The Concepts document; and Modules 1 to 5 for a little bit of heavy bedtime reading)
Conclusions – I am beginning to realize how little I really know about the internet – I may be able to use it as a tool for communication, banking, video production, photography etc., but really I have a lot to learn.
7th June Read Tutor Tips – e-mail.
Conclusions – I was a little taken back by the overall concepts of the Unit – My background is pure science and I feel this Internet Studies will come across to me in the straight forward approach I am usually used to.
Read also – e-mails – Rules of B.B.; Tutor contact hours; Using the B.B. email; B.B. downtime; IMPORTANT*** re: email; and did the Required Quiz.
Read – the Welcome email in the General section of B.B. – replied with my four items that parallel my lifestyle – Mathematical calculator – my background is in science particularly chemistry, post uni studies in 1972 (aquarium) owned a fish breeding farm and (hammer) having spent the most of the last 30 years building our last seven houses, (pets gear) owned and bread as an interest more dogs and cats that you could poke a stick at.
8th – 12th June Spent the last five evenings reading the PDF’s I downloaded, I hope I know a little more about approaching the course. Initially had serious trouble watching the “What’s an RSS” and “What’s a blog” informational streamed lectures. My son told me to pause the lecture at the start until it becomes fully loaded onto the computer then watch them uninterrupted – I hope he’s correct.
13th June Found the “Wordpress” site and started my blog address for the Learning Log etc. – http://lawajue.wordpress.com
15th June Without others in the household using the internet this afternoon watched the “RSS” & Blog info easily.
